I’m about to dig into the book “Wrestling Babylon” by Irv Muchnick. Mr. Muchnick has been on a number of media broadcasts discussing the murder/suicide story surrounding Chris Benoit, and has received some acclaim for his article/essay “Jimmy Snuka and the Groupie” (which discusses the controversial death of the Superfly’s girlfriend in the early 1980’s and the coverup that ensued).
Irv is also the nephew of legendary wrestling figure Sam Muchnick.
This book appears to be a collection of articles and essays from over the years. all whcih deal with the world of professional wrestling in way way or another. His writing has always been intelligent but bold, so I’ve been interested in this book since I first heard about it coming out. Regardless, if nothing else, I’m sure it won’t have any senseless typos like most wrestling books seen to have.
I’ll let you all know how it is. I’m also interested in the new book on the life of Frank “Bruiser Brody” Goodish.
