A Good Cause, Other Stuff

Heard about something kind of cool this week.

All Star Wrestling will be running a special event December 7th at the bridgeview Hall in Surrey, BC. This event will be a benefit for the Surrey Christmas Bureau. The idea is that rather than pay for your ticket, you bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate. These toys go to the kids of families in need. The event is bringing a lot of people and organizations together, who are donating time and resources 100% free of charge in order to offer a helping hand.

If you can make it to the show, please go and remember that toy! Go to the All Star site for more info.

It’s funny how in professional wrestling you hear little things now and then. I’ve always chosen to avoid the more political side of things, and just enjoy my time in the ring and in front of the fans. In the past couple of weeks, I have heard that I am apparently involved in running a couple different wrestling organizations here on Vancouver Island. I can assure that I am not involved in any way with running any sort of wrestling operation. The first two lessons I was taught when getting involved in professional wrestling were 1.) Never put your own money into running a wrestling event, and 2.) Never bother trying to run your own show.

While I have always felt that my aptitude for professional wrestling far outweighed my physical abilities, I feel that aptitude, if applied behind-the-scenes, would be best utilized helping teach and develop new talent, and assure that logic is maintained in the creative process. I have been around enough wrestling shows, and been close with enough people that run them that I have seen more than clearly that it’s a thankless job, and one that takes a lot more patience than I have.

On a final note, I have received a few messages from loyal readers/visitors saying they find it to be a bit of an inconvenience to have to click on the “Blog” link on the main page of the site in order to see if I’ve posted a new update.

near the bottom of the sidebar on the right-hand side of the page, you should see links to the last few articles. I’m trying to get a feed on ther most recent post to show up on the front page, but as yet, the code doesn’t seem to agree with me. If you know your way around WordPress and know how to get this working, by all means, please drop me a line and let me know how to get it working properly!

Take care,
