As you frequent AdamFirestorm.com visitors may have noticed, I have begun posting short audio updates from time-to-time. While I plan on doing something interesting with these (I have my own audio equipment, mixer, studio, etc at home), so far I’ve just given quick updates on what’s up, things to look out for, etc.

To do these, I’ve mostly been using the web-based podcasting service Podamatic. I simply record (and if need be mix) my audio, save it in whatever format, bitrate, etc that I desire, and leave the rest of the driving up to Podamatic (not Greyhound). After than I just embed their player into my updates.

Problem is,  when you embed the player, it defaults to the most recent audio update. If you’re reading a post from a week ago, you’ll have to physically pick the right audio update from a list. I was going to find a solution to that this week.

However, I’ve found Podamatic to be really, really flaky. I first used the site/service a couple of years ago now, and it was good. It seems to have gone downhill. As a matter of fact, when logging in to post this very message, their site appeared to be dead, and all the audio blogs I’ve posted are broken links as a result.

So I’ll be looking for an alternative solution today. Yes, I am smart enough and have all the knowledge to just do it all myself via this site from start to finish, but I’m too cheap to store the files on my own site and pay the extra bandwidth.

Anyone out there know of a good site that does something similar? There’s so many sites out there that look so similar these days that I’d rather go on recemmendation. Just email me at adamfirestorm@hotmail.com.
