Here’s a video I recently produced for an upcoming event in Thunder Bay, Ontario promoted by Wrestling Supershow. Take a look, then keep reading…

For the benefit of those who want a little more info, the date of the show is Thursday, June 18th at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay, Ontario. More info can be found at http://www.wrestlingsupershow.com/thunderbay .

Okay, so I apologize in advance is this gets a tad sappy…

Sometimes I really have to stop myself and think for a few minutes. The result is usually a fair bit of amazement. Not to sound conceited, but I have led an amazing life so far. I’m not rich or famous, but I am incredibly blessed. From the huge wrestling fan/nerd/geek aspect, I have gone from a little kid playing with his WWF action figures to an adult working with and for the real thing. I have done just about every job in wrestling. I have done TV. I have done radio. I have run wrestling hotlines, refereed, announced, been a timekeeper, and even a wrestler.

It sounds hokey and cheesey, and I have said it in a few interviews I have done, but it still rings true. I am one of the very few people in the world that in some way have legitimately been able to live out a childhood dream.

When I was little, I would dream of being a pro wrestling commentator. As a result of this, I was interested in TV and radio, and later film. I fluked into being a wrestler and got to meet almost all my childhood idols, and even got to work with a few of them. I got to appear on TV with “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, one of my childhood heroes, for crying out loud!

Yes, I have it pretty good, and I haven’t even brought up my wonderful little family yet. Sorry if this is a hokey post, but it is important to stop everyone once in a while and realize what you have. The exciting part is, I’m not even old yet! There’s a lot more left to do and experience.

If you have some dreams or aspirations, don’t let go of them yet. It can be amazing how things work out.

  1. One of the best episodes I’ve linsteed to. Ricky is such an incredible worker and world-traveler. I didn’t knew Chono was responsible for bringing former WWE guys in, apparently he is still doing that typer of shit in IGF. I also didn’t knew that Inoki was supporting Takada when he fought Mutoh lol.
